2022 Winner for Canstar Blue’s Most Satisfied Customers Award
My strong recommendation – stick to the most popular software. Why?
- It’s easier to find a new bookkeeper if your current bookkeeper resign
- The more popular software companies have the resources to continuously upgrade and improve the software
- Support is generally superior than that provided by the smaller software developer
You can get cheaper software (sometimes even FREE). I’ve come across some shocking software (that will remain nameless) where the reports generated cannot be relied upon and I’ve had to go back to the raw data ending up in a much bigger bill to the client.
Quickbooks v MYOB v Xero
The 3 most popular options currently are Quickbooks, MYOB and Xero. The most important question you have to ask is WHICH is going to be the best fit for your business. You want to make sure you choose the right one as it’s something that will be with you for a very long time – you certainly do not want to be changing bookkeeper software too often.
All 3 have unique features and benefits. My personal preference is Quickbooks. For me, value for money is important. Whilst I do like MYOB a lot (having been a MYOB user for over 15 years), I can no longer justify the price.
Below are links to the pricing for all three. Make sure that you compare apples with apples. Sometimes the base price is the cheapest but by the time you add the “must-have extras” it goes from being the cheapest to the most expensive.
If you’re interested in switching across to Quickbooks, get in touch to get an ongoing 25% discount off the Quickbooks price now. I can also assist with the transfer of data from your current software to Quickbooks.
