PEER SUPPORT

Join a Mastermind Group and expand your network.
Draw from the experience, training, skills, and knowledge of others who align with your definite major purpose.

The proven way to deal with your business problem is to gather a group of like-minded people around you. This is often referred to as a Mastermind – a concept made popular by Napoleon Hill in his book Think and Grow Rich.  Meetings can be structured or completely flexible depending on your preferences. Whichever you choose, you must have a facilitator to keep the group on track. Groups have been known to degenerate into social drinking sessions where nothing is achieved. A properly run Mastermind is invaluable. A badly run Mastermind is just a waste of your time. The proper use of a mastermind group is the cornerstone to all great achievement, and it is one of the steps that people most often overlook.

  • Structured – This works well at the beginning especially if you don’t know what you don’t know. A structured group will give you the base knowledge and take you to the next level where you know what you don’t know.
  • Flexible – This takes a lot of work to stay focused and often morph into becoming a networking group. I’m sure you have attended business meetings where every person you meet is only interested in selling their services.
  • Structured Flexible – The combination of structured teaching (usually on a topic selected by members) followed by discussion on the teaching as well as an open discussion for members to bring up any business problems they need answers to have proven to be the most productive and is now the only one I run.

Whatever you do, do one of the above as a minimum.  Group dynamics can play a huge part in the success or otherwise of your group.  However, doing it alone is not a great idea. As John Maxwell said “Some of his best ideas come from other people”.  Business is simple but it’s hard work if you have no one to turn to for advice.  Get in touch with me to explore your options if you would like me to facilitate your group.
